Food for the soul

I went for a walk.

Trespassed an apartment and sat down on a bench on a little rocky cliff overlooking the river.
Water lapped gently on the bank and a mullet flipped occasionally.

A woman glided past on her kayak while a CityCat churned past in the other direction.

Kookaburras and crickets started to orchestrate their mismatched symphony as the sun sank.

I took in the cool evening summer breeze, the sunset hues painted on heavy clouds that hung mid-air, and the faint musty smell of the river.

I was at peace with the world, and it felt good.
