Envy

I've been obsessively following [ Jessica Watson's blog ] on her mission to be the youngest person to sail solo around the world.

When I first saw it on the news, I was a little skeptical and thought it was silly of her parents to so easily let their 16 year old daughter embark on such a dangerous voyage. It looked like it was all just a publicity stint to gain attention from the media. However, from reading all her blog updates, this young lady has not only proven her maturity and capability to take care of herself, but has also earned my utmost admiration and respect with her ambition and determination. And I'm obviously not alone either, judging from the huge amount of support by the horde of other followers on her blog!

This was exactly the sort of thing I had wanted to do when I was 16. Alas, I was only able to fantasize. Damn.
